Coach
Coach Isaac Portillo is one of CFS’s dedicated coaches, leading most of our evening CrossFit classes throughout the week. Isaac loves CrossFit because it truly is for everyone, and because of the incredible community that comes with it.
Isaac’s favorite movements to coach are double-unders, and his favorite benchmark workout is Isabel. His least favorite movement, however, is the strict press—he clearly prefers his presses to be a little more forgiving…get it? Not strict!
When Isaac isn’t coaching or training, he enjoys eating anything spicy, has a habit of referring to exercises in the gym as “bad boys,” and is known for being an all-around generous, genuinely good person. Combine his coaching knowledge and experience with his personality, and you get a “spicy bad boy” coach who’s also a great guy.
Isaac is also an avid world traveler who has visited too many places to list, though his trip to Nepal stands out as his favorite. At home, he shares life with six cats and one dog—yes, just one dog!
Isaac’s favorite quote is: “Skills can be taught. Character you either have or you don’t have.”
