Cindy

Coach Cindy Young is one of CFS’s original founders and has been part of the community for over 20 years. Without Cindy, it’s very possible that CFS might not be around today—she truly is the heart and soul of the gym. These days, Cindy mostly fills in as a coach here and there, but with her vast CrossFit knowledge and years of coaching experience, if you ever catch one of her classes, consider yourself lucky.

Cindy loves the community, support, and friendships that CrossFit provides, along with the physical and mental health benefits it brings to both herself and others. Her favorite movement to teach is any skill someone has been working toward for a long time—she finds it incredibly rewarding to witness that moment when they finally achieve their goal.

DT is hands-down her favorite workout, not because she’s especially good at it, but because of the meaningful memories tied to it and the amazing people she’s shared it with over the years. When asked about her least favorite movements, she didn’t hesitate to name back squats and farmer carries.

Cindy’s favorite food is, without a doubt, a hearty salad packed with healthy veggies, grains, and protein. She also has a deep love for animals and small creatures—perhaps even more than people. She’s known for rescuing countless bugs in the gym, spending her free time dancing with her cats, Bailey and Chili, and traveling to unforgettable places like Best Friends Animal Sanctuary in Kanab, Utah. One Thanksgiving, she even helped save turkeys with Cory Feldman.

Outside of CrossFit, Cindy enjoys relaxing with her Chihuahua, Paco. As for her favorite quote? Her answer was simple: “I have to think about that. Give me a few minutes.” We’re still waiting…
