Tomorrow, Sept 26th, Nancy Ahad is participating in the Spartan Race and will be completing a Spartan Beast (see below). This will be the last piece of her Spartan Trifecta!!!

From Nancy:

"I am doing a Spartan Beast Race this Saturday and earning my first Trifecta. A spartan race is an obstacle course race that challenges you both mentally and physically. A Trifecta is completing one of each race, Sprint, Super, and Beach in a calendar year. A Sprint is 3+ miles and 15+ obstacles, a Super is 8+ miles and 24+ obstacles, and a Beast is 12+ miles and 30+ obstacles. A little over a year ago I was 216 pounds and unhealthy. I wanted to do something to change that, it wasn't about being fat or skinny it was about being healthy. I had a trainer whom I had mentioned I wanted to try a Spartan race, he encouraged me to do it and I did my first race in 10/2014 and was addicted. I decided that I wanted to do the other races. I started changing how I ate, logging my meals, and exercising. In January I did a Super, it was tough because I still was not where I needed to be physically but I push through finished and earned my medal. At that point I decided I wanted to earn a Trifecta because I needed to do this to prove to myself that I can. I did another Super in June and in July did my Sprint. I know myself and knew that the Beast was going to be a challenge for me because of the distance and obstacles but I knew that I could do it if I put my mind to it. I reached out to CFS and met with Amber who has helped me tremendously to get stronger. I love Spartan racing, not because I'm a runner because I'm not but because it challenges me. I love the Spartan community, on the course you are never alone, there is always someone willing to help you in obstacles or just providing words of encouragement. I would have never thought that at age 42 I would be completing a Spartan Beast but I am, no matter how long it takes me, I'm crossing the finish line and earning my last piece of my Spartan Trifecta. From the bottom of my heart I want to thank Amber but the CFS family. The coaches are so encouraging and supportive, the members always there cheering you when you struggle to finish the last rep. I am so blessed to have stumbled through CFS, I will try to make all of you proud on Saturday."

Go get em Nancy! We are all proud of you! Send us some pics!
